International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) has a special attention to the development of the city of Makassar. Through the Australia Business Volunters program (ABV) IBM Corporate Service Corp (CSC), a company that manufactures and sells computer hardware and software is collaborating with the government of Makassar city to develop information technology in a number of government agencies and non-Government Organisation (NGO).

CSC team consisting of employees of IBM's best of America, Brazil, Mexico, Austria, and the Philippines have arrived in the city of Makassar since Sunday (03/11/2012)."During this month, we will help assist the municipal government of Makassar and the number of NGOs improve their skills in technology, management, and research and business planning" said Santi Diansari Sarino, CSC Manager IBM Indonesia as reporting.

Dian explained that the program is part of the social program from IBM which was held in a number of cities in developing countries.In Indonesia, Makassar is the third city of choice to run IBM's CSC program, after Jakarta and Surabaya. In Malaysia, IBM chose Kinabalu city for the same program.

"Technology is the information associated with our determination to make a Makassar as a world city based on local knowledge. Therefore, through this program volunteers IBM is expected to help us to upgrade the IT systems that exist, give advice and skills transfer, and helps build relationships usiness-to-business and business-to-government "said Ilham.

IBM skilled workers who arrived in Makassar in between, Cheryl Patchin of IBM USA, Marcelo Tueiv of IBM Brazil, Vivek M Anandaramu of IBM India, Thomas H Oblak from IBM USA, Arun B Kesavannair of IBM India, Jessica R Eidem from IBM USA Javier Sanches Victor Manuel Hernandez of IBM Mexico, Sabine Goll of IBM Austria, Nitu Sharma from IBM India, Ruth Dela Cruz of IBM Philipines.

They will be served in a number of municipal government agencies such as NGOs Makassardan Makassar Power Hospitals, Office of Transportation City of Makassar, Makassar City Office of Education, Office of Archives, Libraries and Electronic Data Processing, Planning Office of building space and the city of Makassar, as well as in the office of Indonesia's marine conservation foundation Makassar.
